Can we offset the mortgage interest on our own home? | Money | guardian.co.uk
Q My wife and I bought a second property last year and have been renting out our first. As the mortgage amount on the rented property is lower than the one we live in, can we offset the interest up to the market value of the rented property from our own mortgage? And can we go to our lender and get a new higher mortgage to increase the interest, also reducing our tax liability? ZA
