I moved out of my London flat on 18 October. I had paid rent until the end of that month, but the following month's rent also went out before I had a chance to cancel the direct debit. I mistakenly believed this would have been cancelled by the agency when I moved out. After phoning them I was asked to supply my direct debit details, and the overpaid rent money, which was £1,440, would be returned to me shortly. I also requested a date for the return of my £1,350 security deposit. The week before Christmas I called the agency every day and was informed the money would be transferred by Christmas Eve.
