30% of people likely to move this year | News | Mortgage Strategy
The number of people who believe they will buy property over the next 12 months has fallen from 37% in 2010 to 30% in 2011, according to Legal & General’s Moving Intentions Survey.
The research, which is based on a sample of 1,000 adults and was carried out in the early weeks of this year, shows 10% of respondents say they are very likely to move in the next year, and a further 20% are quite likely.
Conversely, 26% of people describe themselves as quite unlikely to buy in the next 12 months, and 44% as very unlikely.
The most likely buyers are those aged 26 to 35 who are currently living in a flat or maisonette.
