Nurses, teachers and firefighters may be pushed to the back of the queue for cut-price home-ownership following a Government overhaul.
Experts have warned that essential workers will be forced to battle other would-be homeowners over a limited and dwindling pot of Government cash aimed at helping cash-strapped first-time buyers. Yet other groups such as council tenants will still be given a leg up on to the ladder.
