House prices avoid fall for first time in nine months | News | Inside Housing

Hometrack, a UK based housing information group, said that sales for April recorded no price fall according to the national monthly housing market survey.

Demand increased by 22 per cent for the first four months of the year and sales agreed jumped 46 per cent in the first quarter of 2011.

London continues to be strong with prices rising by 0.3 per cent over April, offsetting small falls of up to -0.3 per cent across all other regions.

The average time on the market has moved lower and now stands at 9.6 weeks and the average house price is £153,100..
