Rightmove man plots cheap and fast conveyancing | This is Money

Rightmove man plots cheap and fast conveyancing | This is Money

Harry Hill, founder of property website Rightmove and former chief executive of Countrywide, will tomorrow launch an online conveyancing service that he expects to grab ten per cent of legal work in the housing market.

Backed by 3i, In-Deed is born of Hill's conviction that the conveyancing service is poor.

Solicitors working for the new company will update customers every two days, giving them exact details of how purchases are going and try to keep them on top of the paperwork.

Customers will pay £650 for the service with the website taking a £200 cut and the rest going to solicitors who must work under the In-Deed label.
