It's nearing midsummer and the sun is reaching its zenith. That's good news for the thousands of home owners who have installed electricity-generating (pv) panels on their roofs in the past year, in response to the feed-in-tariff payments now available.
Figures released by the Government reveal that a record 11,300 solar pv systems were installed in the first quarter of this year, making the cumulative total nearly 30,000. Before the feed-in-tariff we were producing 26 megawatts of solar electricity; today that figure is nearly 80 megawatts.
