Is this a home Mr Darcy would approve of?

Is this a home Mr Darcy would approve of?

A house in Ibthorpe, Hampshire with exceptional links to Jane Austen’s life and her novels including Pride and Prejudice is being sold on the open market for the first time in nearly 500 years.

For sale at £3.5 million through agent Knight Frank, Ibthorpe House is where historians believe Austen wrote parts of Pride and Prejudice as well as being the inspiration for Longthorpe, the Bennett family home featured in the book.

The house was home during the early 19th century to the Austen family’s friends the Lloyds. Jane and her sister Cassandra were close to Mary and Martha Lloyd, and Jane’s brother, James, married Mary Lloyd at Ibthorpe House in 1797.
