Why houses with history will sell - Telegraph
Once upon a time, you put your house on the market. People would look around, and then one of them would buy it.
Today, that sounds like some pre-recession fairy tale. Far from sitting back and waiting for the bids to flood in, vendors in the current economic drought are having to resort to more imaginative ways to persuade punters to put in an offer.
A few weeks ago, there was a decorator in the Midlands offering to repaint the entire house in the colour of the purchaser’s choice. In North London a man was giving away a brand-new Fiat with his four-bedroom house.
