Sean Quinn: From Ireland's richest man to a bankrupt with debts of £1.7bn | Mail Online

In a story as unlikely as the plot of a Jeffrey Archer novel, Ireland's once-richest man has declared himself bankrupt, with debts of £1.7billion run up on huge gambles in the shares of Anglo-Irish Bank.
Sean Quinn confirmed he had gone bust at the Belfast High Court this morning in the biggest personal insolvency case in Irish history.
Mr Quinn, whose success was a true rags-to-riches story having been built on a £100 loan, made heavy losses after he invested in complex share investments at the now nationalised rogue Anglo-Irish.
