Rightmove house prices: Number of new homes for sale drops to lowest in a decade despite record low borrowing costs | This is Money

The number of new homes for sale has slumped to its lowest point in more than a decade, new figures have revealed today.
Since the turn of the year just 34,433 properties have come on to the market equating to around half of pre-credit crunch levels, according to property website Rightmove.
The findings were released as it emerged borrowing costs have fallen to a 14-year low with the average mortgage payments for new borrowers standing at 27 per cent of disposable earnings.
