George Osborne has warned he will catch the millionaire stamp duty cheats | Mail Online

George Osborne yesterday promised to crack down heavily on multi-millionaires who hire expensive lawyers to avoid paying top stamp duty on  £2 million-plus homes.
Treasury officials said the Chancellor will go all out to thwart the latest attempts to get around paying the new seven per cent tax.
A Treasury spokesman said: ‘The Chancellor is utterly determined that anyone buying a home in Britain will pay  stamp duty.’
The Chancellor warned: ‘If you buy a property in Britain that is used for residential purposes then we will expect stamp duty to be paid. I will not hesitate to move swiftly, without notice and retrospectively if inappropriate ways around the new rules  are found.’
