Oonagh Spence grew up in the Manchester area, but lived in London for five years where, as for so many, buying a house was never an option.
“However,” she says, “once I moved back up north it finally seemed a feasible idea.”
Falling house prices mean it’s definitely a first-time buyers’ market, if you have the wherewithal. “Now is certainly the time to buy and if I wait longer I might regret it,” says Oonagh.
She returned from a trip to India in May and, although she’s a bit worried she might be settling down too early, feels that if she wanted to work abroad or go travelling again, at least she would have something to rent out. Her requirements are simple.
