So she might need to see if her parents are willing to lend her more, or plan to save for another year.

1 Be positive

Most people end up being householders, so there is no reason why you shouldn’t. You have a job and a steady income.

2 Be flexible

Blackheath is an expensive, family- orientated suburb of south-east London with no access to the Tube, although there is a good rail link. Perfect for a family, but perhaps not for a young woman. I’d go east, or up to Elephant and Castle, or Brixton. There is green space, prices are more reasonable and transport links are better .....
