Betrayed by my bank: Halifax five-month delay left loyal saver of 24 years facing eviction | Mail Online

A loyal Halifax saver was locked out of her £2,000 savings by the bank, despite it having gifted the account with £100 in it as a publicity stunt on her birth 24 years ago.
Kelly Barber faced eviction from her Australian home after being denied access to her emergency savings pot for five months.

Blundering Halifax admitted the bank failed to act 'as promptly as we should' when 24-year-old expat Kelly Barber fell on hard times last February.

Struggling to pay rent after moving to Australia in 2010 and needing her savings, cash-strapped Kelly was passed pillar-to-post by Halifax and still could not get access to her own cash.
