Buy-to-let loans surge 16% in three months as lending reaches highest level since 2008 | Mail Online

The number of new buy-to-let loans increased by 16 per cent between July and September as the pick-up in buy-to-let lending, which was recorded in the three months prior, shows no signs of slowing down.

The data from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) showed that in the three months to September, a total of 34,500 buy-to-let loans were advanced – a leap from 29,700 recorded in the previous quarter.
Over the same three-month period, the value of mortgages advanced in the sector grew by 19 per cent, from £3.2billion to £3.8billion.
