House prices soar by nearly £2k in October as property market recovers | Mail Online

House prices rose by nearly £2,000 in October, as the property market showed signs that it is weathering the economic turbulences better than many fear.

The Halifax reported that the average UK property is now worth £163,311, as record low interest rates underpinning cheap mortgages sparked an increase in sales.

Prices rose by 1.2 per cent in October, pushing the value of a typical home up by £62 a day in four weeks, with prices now marginally higher .....
