Becky Dickinson was seven and a half months pregnant with her first child when she and her partner Uli Frigeri moved into their pretty Victorian two-up-two-down at the start of 2007.

‘We laughed at how small the place was, but it was our first step on the property ladder and, in any case, we planned to trade up to a bigger house after a couple of years once we’d built up a bit of equity,’ she says.

‘We wanted at least three children, but we figured there would be plenty of time for that after our next move.’
