GOOGLE may be pushing the boundaries with regards to personal privacy but there’s no doubting that the internet is changing and challenging the ways good and services are advertised. Until now advertising has largely been a one-size-fits-all approach but log on to the internet these days and the chances are you’ll find adverts specific to your location and your interests (I’m guessing the fact that Google seems to think I’m Japanese is only a temporary glitch!).

The internet has also transformed the marketing and selling of property. And in terms of finding that dream home before others see it, the instant nature of email alerts and texts can prove vital. Initially, estate agents on the internet struggled to understand the new medium and how they could harness its power for their customers’ benefit. But even within the past year I’ve been encouraged by the imaginative web services and apps that agents have dreamed up.
