Budget extends home aid for low-income households for extra year | Mail Online
A Government benefit that pays the mortgage interest for low-income households will be extended for another year.
The Chancellor announced that Support for Mortgage Interest will continue until January 2013 in an effort to reduce repossessions.
The benefit pays 227,000 households a flat rate of 3.63pc towards their mortgage per month, regardless of the actual amount of interest they are being charged by their bank.
