Luxury homes: the penthouse - Telegraph

Luxury homes: the penthouse - Telegraph

If period homes, be they Georgian gems or Arts and Crafts masterpieces, are the Bentleys of the property world, then penthouses are the Lamborghinis. Sleek, exclusive and uncompromising homes fit for billionaires, they are unapologetically lavish and expensive – as their price tags attest.
The top three floors in the Richard Rogers-designed One Hyde Park in London were last year sold as a penthouse to Ukrainian buyer Rinat Akhmetov for £136.4million, making it the most expensive penthouse apartment in Britain, but it is thought that this sum could be matched or even exceeded when Rogers designs a new property in the existing Sporting d’Hiver building next to Monaco’s historic casino and opera house.
